BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - February 10, 2009) - uTest, the world's largest software testing marketplace, announced
today that it has appointed Peter Roberts to its board of directors.
Roberts is a Partner at the Waltham, Mass.-based venture capital firm
Longworth Venture Partners, which was the lead investor in uTest's recent
$5
million round of funding.
"Peter brings a wealth of experience in guiding web and software start-ups,
and we will benefit directly and immediately from his vision," said Doron
Reuveni, uTest CEO and co-founder. "It's an exciting step in uTest's
evolution to grow our board along with our expanding customer base, testing
community, and internal team. Peter will be instrumental in helping us to
achieve even greater future growth."
"Longworth was attracted to investing in uTest because we saw the company
as a community-driven solution with a powerful business model," said
Roberts. "uTest is unique in that it has all the elements we seek in an
investment; a very large market, early leadership position in that market,
real customers, phenomenal growth potential and it solves an acute and
tangible business problem -- the need for a faster, more effective way to
test software applications."
Roberts has more than 16 years of investing experience in high-growth
software and internet companies. In addition to joining the uTest board,
he also represents Longworth Venture Partners on the boards of DFA Capital
Management, Genesis
Networks, iJET
Intelligent Risk Systems, and Innovectra.
Prior to joining Longworth Venture Partners, Peter was a Managing Director
at BancBoston Ventures, where he spearheaded software internet investments,
having led and managed 23 investments including Allaire Corporation,
Arbinet, HTE, Internet Capital Group (ICG), Silknet, Watchfire, Waypoint,
and WebCT.
