TASER Foundation Announces New Members to the Board of Directors and New CEO Advisory Board


SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., April 8, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The TASER Foundation for Fallen Officers announces four new members to the Board of Directors: Gordon C. James, of Gordon C. James Public Relations; Rosie Martinez, Community Relations Manager for KPHO CBS 5 Arizona; Michael Romero, a Detective with the Phoenix Police Department; and Paul Krulisky, Director with the law firm Fennemore Craig. Each of the new directors will serve an initial term ending January 2011.

Including the four new members, the TASER Foundation Board of Directors has ten members which include Dr. Robert Sparks, Chairperson for the Board: Dr. Robert Kravitz, Vice Chair; Mark Wills, Country Music Recording Artist; Steve Gibson, Vancouver Police Sergeant; David Brown, Ontario Provincial Police Constable; and Kathy Hanrahan, TASER Foundation CEO.

In addition to expanding the Board of Directors, the TASER Foundation has created a CEO Advisory Board, to help plan and execute successful fund raising events across the country. Recently added to the Advisory Board, are 11-Time World Series of Poker Champion(r), Phil Hellmuth; Howell Cheek, Managing Partner of Sigrist, Cheek and Potter; Steven Cole, former professional athlete and entrepreneur; Martin MacLeod and Peter Holran, Financial Reporting Manager and Vice President Public Relations & Government Affairs for TASER International respectively; and Amy Uribe, daughter in-law of Phoenix Police Officer David Uribe, who was killed in the line of duty on May 10, 2005.

The TASER Foundation distributes financial memorial grants to the families of fallen officers in the United States and Canada through donations and an initial endowment of $1,000,000.
