Discover the Historical Events of America and China Through These Memories -- New Book Recalls the Enduring Journey of Co-Authors Who Made It to America All the Way From China

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif., May 27, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Co-authors George Chung Wang and Jo Ann Lee Wang both experienced life in China and America. Along the way, they witnessed several historical events unfold which somehow influenced their lives. This is the theme that drives their testimonies and recollections in their new book Eye Witness History In The Making -- 1888-2009, released through Xlibris.

Spanning three generations, the text takes a long look back at the life and times of the co-authors, as well as members of their families. Readers will learn that in China, they lived through a period of great turmoil, imperialist invasion, civil strife and revolution. They were the lucky few who managed to get through all the uncertainty that claimed the lives of millions. By chance or by providence, the Wangs got trusted to the vantage point where they witnessed history unfold. In America, they experienced the direct effects that the Vietnam War, the Apollo moon landing and the Iraq war had on society. Every year turned out to be random tests of the Wang's desire to live up to sudden changes. Along the way, they realized the drastic cultural differences between East and West as well as the fading of the boundary between them. Lastly, this book also contains materials taken from the diaries and travel journals of several family members.
