Correction OCI Fertilizer Group Cairo, Egypt / 1 June 2009, 1:30 PM OCI Exports First Ammonia Shipment Orascom Construction Industries (OCI) announced today that Egypt Basic Industries Corporation (EBIC) has successfully completed its first export shipment totaling 23,400 metric tons of ammonia using its export facilities in Sokhna Port on the Egyptian Red Sea coast. Exports take place through a dedicated jetty operated by EBIC. EBIC owns and operates two port storage/export tanks with a total capacity of 80,000 metric tons and a state of the art loading arm with a capacity of 1,200 metric tons per hour. EBIC's name plate capacity is 2,000 metric tons per day or 0.7 mtpa. About OCI Fertilizer Group The OCI Fertilizer Group has plants based in Egypt capable of producing a total of 2.0 million tons of nitrogen-based fertilizers annually. In late 2010 our fertilizer complex in Algeria in partnership with state-owned Sonatrach will begin production with a total capacity of 0.8 million tons of ammonia and 1.2 million tons of urea. The Group also has an investment in a facility in Nigeria. With production from Algeria and the upgrade of our production facilities in Egypt, the OCI Fertilizer Group will achieve a gross annual production capacity of 4.8 million tons of nitrogen-based fertilizers.
