MtronPTI Receives Authorization From Lockheed Martin to Ship Highly-Engineered Products Without Source Approval

"Distinctive Recognition" of Integrity of MtronPTI's Quality Control and Operational Systems

ORLANDO, Fla., June 15, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In a "distinctive recognition" of the integrity of its operational and quality control systems, MtronPTI announced it had received authorization from Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company to do its own final release testing of highly-engineered parts used in a wide range of Lockheed Martin products and systems.

MtronPTI, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the LGL Group (NYSE Amex:LGL), is a leading producer of frequency control, filter and integrated subsystems for the multi-billion dollar telecom, military, space satellite and avionics markets.

"We are delighted and proud of this endorsement from Lockheed Martin," according to Robert Zylstra, LGL's president and chief executive officer. "It has been a long standing practice at Lockheed to only allow shipment after inspection by one of their source inspectors. Their EIA letter of authorization -- End Item Acceptance Delegation -- now allows us to ship without that source approval. It is a great testimony to our quality capabilities from one of the major players in the space and avionics industry," Mr. Zylstra said.

MtronPTI's products are used in Lockheed Martin's aeronautics, electronics, information, global security and space systems. The company's clients for high reliability military and aerospace products also include Northrop Grumman, Raytheon and Harris Corporation.
