F. Warren Wayland, C.P.A., Joins 1st Capital Bank's Board of Directors


MONTEREY, Calif., Oct. 2, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- 1st Capital Bank (OTCBB:FISB) President and CEO, C. Frederick Rowden, has announced the appointment of Warren Wayland, C.P.A., to the 1st Capital Bank Board of Directors.

In 1977, Warren co-founded the firm Hayashi & Wayland and is currently the Managing Partner. Wayland has over thirty-eight years of diversified tax, audit and business-consulting experience serving major clients in several industries, especially the agriculture industry. He is also the firm's estate and trust planning specialist, and specializes in larger, closely-held businesses. He earned his degrees at the University of California, Davis.

Warren is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is currently serving as Chairman of the Board of the Salinas Girls Fast Pitch, Inc., President of Public Recreation Unlimited and President of the Salinas Regional Sports Authority. He is a past President of the California Rodeo Association and Monterey County Cattlemen's Association. He also has served as the past Vice President of the California Cattlemen's Association, past Treasurer of The Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation, and of The Community Foundation for Monterey County. Warren has served on many other boards in our communities such as The Boys & Girls Club of Monterey County.

His achievements have been recognized by the Salinas Chamber of Commerce as "Citizen of the Year," and the Monterey County Cattlemen's Association as "Cattleman of the Year." In 2009, he was the recipient of a "Jefferson Award" and the "Junior Achievement's Laureate Award," as a business and community leader.

Mr. Wayland and his wife of 38 years have four married daughters and eight grandchildren, all living in Salinas.
