The Hormone Sourcebook Released -- Professor Publishes An All-In-One Reference Book About the Body's Amazing Natural Chemicals

IOWA CITY, Iowa, Oct. 16, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- An informative and systematic book about the crucial role of hormones awaits readers as Xlibris announces the release of The Hormone Sourcebook, the all-in-one reference book about the amazing natural chemicals that control a person's features and moods, authored by Eugene Spaziani, Ph.D.

The inspiration for The Hormone Sourcebook came from over forty-five years of research, and teaching students training for careers in the health sciences, including medicine, dentistry, nursing, physical therapy and exercise science. The experience and feedback acquired at social gatherings and others led him to conclude that people are remarkably uninformed, yet are intensely curious, about how their bodies work -- especially about what hormones do.

Introduced systematically and discussed in conversational style, each chapter of this book is loaded with topical information, explanations of hormone controversies, and stories of epochal breakthroughs in bio-medicine (including hormone-related work by thirty Nobel Prize winners).

The Hormone Sourcebook provides the basics for understanding news stories about hormones that appear almost daily, and information that better prepares one for trips to the doctor. The book also guides readers through controversies such as hormone replacement therapy in menopause, steroid abuse and its consequences, the "bio-identical" hormones flap, the nature-nurture arguments about the causes of homosexuality, and much more.
