DRC Awarded $20 Million Task Order for Engineering Work At Air Force Depots

ANDOVER, Mass., Oct. 19, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dynamics Research Corporation (DRC) (Nasdaq:DRCO), a leading provider of innovative management consulting, engineering, and technology solutions to federal and state governments, today announced that it was awarded a two-year and nine month task order under the Design Engineering Support Program (DESP II) valued at $20.2 million supporting the Air Force Item Unique Identification (IUID) program, managed by the Air Force Global Logistic Support Center. This task order significantly expands DRC's on-going effort on the program. The work will be performed at all three Air Logistics Centers located at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma City, OK, Hill AFB, Ogden, UT, and Robins AFB, Warner Robins, GA.

The Air Force's Item Unique Identification program implementation is successfully addressing the technical challenges of marking parts, which are subjected to high performance aerospace environmental conditions. Unique identification marking will enable the Air Force to track parts through transportation, supply, repair and overhaul, and support valuation and life cycle management, bringing the Air Force closer to the goal of total asset visibility.

"DRC is delighted to expand our support for the IUID initiative," said Jim Regan, DRC's chairman and chief executive officer. "We have worked with the Air Force for several years developing this capability, and we will be gratified to see the Air Force realize the benefits as the program ramps up."

This latest contract marks the 18th task order awarded to DRC under the DESP II contract bringing the total of DRC's awards to near $80 million, ranking it in the top tier amongst all 20 DESP II prime contractors in terms of total award value. The DRC DESP II team delivers the expertise and experience necessary to successfully execute the Air Force's initiatives aimed at reducing cost, extending aircraft life, and enhancing availability.
