A Life in a Poetry Collection -- Author Keith Rothschild Shares His Colorful Life in an Anthology of Poems

TIGARD, Ore., Oct. 26, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In a book released through Xlibris, author Keith Rothschild shares his inspiring and oftentimes humorous life. Guns and Gerber Daisies presents poems of rhyme and rhythm that capture the most memorable events in his life, from daily routines to death of loved ones.

In an anthology that is both poetic and autobiographical, Rothschild reflects on his life, including the eight years he lived in the Northwest countryside, where he commuted on rural roads two hours a day; the saddening death of his surgeon brother at the age of thirty-six; and the untimely passing of his twenty-six-year-old daughter, who became his muse. The knowledge and experience he earned throughout the years allowed him to pen down over fifty poems that are inspiring and entertaining. The "Ladydog" is a nostalgic poem that relives the tender memories he shared with his deceased dog. "Christmas Coffee" is one of the many poignantly written poems the author shares as a tribute to his loving and smart daughter. The poem "Jackie" paints the rewarding life he has with his wife and soul mate, while "Senior Moment 2" follows the whining of a sixty-five-year-old man.

Through powerful words written in rhythmic style, this release will take readers on an unforgettable journey through life's bitter and sweet moments. Guns and Gerber Daisies will make one contemplate on rather forgotten memories and ultimately celebrate the beauty that life perpetually offers with its fascinating poems.

Guns and Gerber Daisies will be in the 2010 Frankfurt Book Fair, New England Library Association and New York Library Association.

About the Author

Keith Rothschild was born in December 3, 1941, just four days before Pearl Harbor, and he's felt guilty ever since. He currently resides in the Portland, Oregon, area. He studied in Mexico for three years and he speaks three languages: English, Spanish and Italian. Though an Eastern European Jew by heritage, by marriage and enculturation, he is Italian. He spent years on the stage before being disabled, and has been writing poetry since the age of eighteen.

Mr. Rothschild, who prefers to be called "Kito" is a very unique poet. He writes only from experience. Except for the fable, every poem in his book reflects the truth in his life. As he states frequently "I don't have time for anything but the truth".
