TARRYTOWN, NY and NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - October 29, 2009) - Marks Paneth & Shron LLP
(MP&S), a leading New York area accounting firm, announced today that
Steven P. Monteferante, CPA, 45, has become Partner-in-Charge of
the firm's Westchester office in Tarrytown, New York. Before assuming this
position, Mr. Monteferante, a resident of Putnam Valley, was a Partner in
the firm's Westchester-based Nonprofit and Government Services Group. In
his new role, he will continue to provide audit, accounting and consulting
services to nonprofit clients and will also expand his services to
commercial entities in the New York region.

Steve Monteferante becomes Partner-in-Charge of the MP&S Westchester office
following the Westchester County Business Journal's recent announcement
that the firm ranks 7th largest in Westchester, New York. The firm
achieved an improvement in this ranking, climbing four spots from MP&S's
prior year's ranking in the publication.
About Steven P. Monteferante, CPA
Steven P. Monteferante, CPA, has over 20 years of accounting, auditing and
consulting experience. As a Partner in the firm's Nonprofit and Government
Services Group, Mr. Monteferante has focused on audit oversight, client
retention, business development and staff monitoring.
He began his career with a firm that was acquired by Paneth, Haber &
Zimmerman LLP, a predecessor firm of today's Marks Paneth & Shron. Prior,
Mr. Monteferante served as controller of a multi-corporation, multi-funded
nonprofit organization.
Mr. Monteferante is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, as well as
the New York State Society of CPAs, where he serves on the Nonprofit
Organizations Committee.
Additionally, Mr. Monteferante is deeply involved in the MP&S Nonprofit and
Government Services Group's internal continuing education program where he
speaks on various accounting and auditing topics, such as: Yellow Book
Overview and Update; Selected Advanced Accounting and Reporting Topics;
Nonprofit Accounting Basis and Getting to Know Nonprofit and Government
Accounting.
In his spare time, Mr. Monteferante has volunteered as a member of the
LCBMS PTA and of the Shrub Oak Athletic Club, where he is active in
lacrosse for children. Mr. Monteferante holds a Bachelor of Business
Administration in Accounting from Pace University and is licensed to
practice in New York State.
