City National Bank Hires Bruce Ford as Vice President and Nevada Business Banking Manager


LAS VEGAS, Dec. 21, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- City National Bank today announced that it has hired seasoned banking veteran Bruce Ford as vice president and Nevada Business Banking manager in its Core Banking Division. Ford is a longtime Nevada banking professional who has worked in the industry for more than 26 years.

In his new capacity, Ford will be responsible for working with the branch managers and staff of the bank's eight branches in Nevada to develop new business opportunities with small and medium size businesses. He will also network through various civic and trade organizations to generate new opportunities and to promote City National.

Ford reports to Jim Wullschleger, senior vice president and Business Banking manager of the Core Banking Division, but will work very closely with John Wilcox, senior vice president and Nevada regional banking manager. Ford will be housed at the bank's Summerlin Regional Banking Center in Las Vegas, but will spend a considerable amount of time working with branch staff in northern Nevada.

Ford most recently served as regional president and chief operating officer of Community Bank of Nevada. During his tenure in banking, Ford has worked for Wells Fargo Bank, First Security Bank, Pioneer Citizens Bank, First Interstate Bank, Security Pacific Bank and Nevada State Bank. He also worked for Pentagon Federal Credit Union in Virginia where he began his banking career in 1983. Ford has served in a variety of positions over the past 26 years, which includes loan officer, business banking officer, lending center manager, senior regional credit officer and chief credit officer.

Ford graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance with an emphasis in investments. He is also a graduate of the School of Retail Bank Management at the University of Virginia, and the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington. He was also an instructor at the Community College of Southern Nevada and American Institute of Banking, where he taught commercial lending and general banking courses.

Ford is a member of the UNLV Alumni Association Finance Committee and Nevada Development Authority Recruitment Committee. He also serves on the board of the Urban Financial Services Coalition and is a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and Sigma Pi Phi Professional Fraternity. Ford is also a graduate of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Leadership Las Vegas Class of 2004.
