LOUISVILLE, KY--(Marketwire - January 13, 2010) - AAF-McQuay Inc. (a subsidiary of Daikin
Industries, LTD) is proud to be awarded $2.7 million in renewable energy
project manufacturing investment tax credits as part of the American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. AAF-McQuay Inc. competed with many
other companies to be part of the 183 projects selected by the Department
of Energy to receive awards from the $2.3 billion federal fund.
$570,000 of the credits are designated for AAF International's Columbia,
Missouri plant for re-equipping its manufacturing facility to establish a
versatile mini-pleating and assembly process capable of making
polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and other synthetic media air filters for
the medium and high efficiency air filtration markets. The end result is a
new product family of air filtration products that lower energy consumption
due to greater than 40% lower airflow resistance in HVAC applications. The
remaining $2.2 million of the credits were awarded to McQuay International.
AAF International and McQuay International are divisions of AAF-McQuay Inc.
The credit qualifying investment is planned for the Columbia, MO plant over
the next couple of years with the aid of the federal tax incentives. The
investment could lead to greater sales and job growth at the plant. This is
the latest example of AAF International's commitment to design, develop and
sell energy efficient filtration solutions to aid AAF International's
customers in reducing their total energy cost and carbon footprint. The
products also meet and exceed the market's requirements for more efficient
filtration to protect individuals and equipment from particulate, gaseous
and biological substances.
AAF International, which is based in Louisville, Kentucky, has more than
2,600 employees, 25 manufacturing facilities and 5 R&D centers worldwide,
supporting sales offices in 69 countries.
AAF designs, develops, and manufactures air filtration solutions for
