Pizza Inn Opens New Restaurant in Oklahoma City

Veteran Franchisee Brings Another Family Buffet-Style Restaurant to the Area; Feeds Local Appetite With Specialty Pizzas

THE COLONY, Texas, March 9, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Pizza Inn, Inc. (Nasdaq:PZZI), an international pizza chain recognized for serving a variety of fresh, high quality products at affordable prices, announces the opening of its newest buffet-style restaurant at 6801 SW 3rd Street in Oklahoma City.

The new restaurant is the company's third in Oklahoma City and fourteenth in the state.

"As we continue to grow our brand in various markets across the country, we are thrilled about opening our newest restaurant in Oklahoma City and continuing to feed the local appetite for our variety of specialty and traditional handcrafted pizzas, pastas, salads and desserts," said Charlie Morrison, CEO of Pizza Inn.

For more than 50 years, Pizza Inn has provided consumers with a variety of specialty and traditional handcrafted pizzas, pastas, salads and desserts in a dine-in buffet format with delivery and carryout. The company popularized a unique thin crackery crust that is made from scratch everyday and has since become the signature product offering. Over the years the menu has expanded, but the company's commitment to the highest quality ingredients, the friendliest service and affordable pricing have remained unchanged.

Allen Odetellah is the owner of the new restaurant in Oklahoma City. A 23-year veteran of the Pizza Inn franchise system, Odetellah opened his first restaurant in 1990 and has since grown his network of franchises to include a total of 12 restaurants throughout Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri.

"Pizza Inn has an extremely loyal customer base that I am very fortunate to serve in my current operating locations," Odetellah said. "Pizza Inn stands for quality and value that our guests crave during these economic times. I look forward to providing both of these to the patrons of our newest restaurant."

In an effort to further increase national and regional growth, Pizza Inn is seeking single- and multi-unit franchisees, as well as area developers in select regions of the country. As a result, Pizza Inn recently launched a development incentive program to entice franchisees otherwise discouraged by the current credit market. The incentive program offers a 50 percent reduction in the initial Franchise Fee from $25,000 to only $12,500, a 50 percent reduction in royalties for year one from 4 percent to 2 percent and the same 50 percent reduction in royalties for year two, with years three and beyond at the standard 4 percent. This incentive applies to new construction of U.S. buffet restaurants only.
