Sectra granted patent for high-performance PACS technology

US patent 7,689,539 was today issued to Sectra for a method enabling effective
multi-site workflow and rapid image data delivery. The patent covers a
cornerstone of the Sectra RapidConnect technology, namely efficient retrieval of
medical image data of any dimension and complexity.

“Two crucial challenges for the future of radiology are the ever-growing size of
imaging data sets and the increased needs for sharing and remote reading.
Sectra's innovation has enabled us to create unique and future-proof solutions
to these challenges,” says Dr. Claes Lundström, Director of Radiology IT
solutions at Sectra.

The patented RapidConnect technology is already part of the current Sectra PACS
generation and used by customers throughout the world.
