Strong growth at Copenhagen Airport Passenger numbers at Copenhagen Airport increased by approximately 260,000 in March, representing a year-on-year growth rate of 17.2%. The effects of the joint initiatives by CPH and SAS to improve the transfer product really began to materialise in March. A total of 1,775,794 passengers passed through Copenhagen Airport in March. This was 17.2% more than in the same month of last year. The number of international passengers rose by 15.0%, and the number of transfer passengers rose by 11.4%. One of the reasons for the increase in transfer traffic was the recently announced strategic collaboration between SAS and CPH to reduce the minimum connection time from 40 to 30 minutes for a number of selected destinations. “It is now faster and easier to change flights at Copenhagen Airport, and the increase in transfer traffic is a clear sign that our collaboration with SAS to improve our transfer product has been successful,” said Carsten Nørland, VP for Sales at Copenhagen Airport. The substantial growth in Danish domestic traffic also continued in March increasing by 34.7%. The main drivers of the growth in March were primarily domestic services to Aalborg, Rønne and Karup and services to Barcelona, Spain. The year-to-date increase in the total number of passengers was 11.4%.
