Stockholm, May 26, 2010 — NASDAQ OMX congratulates Electrolux, which exactly 80 years ago today on May 26, 1930, was initially listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. On the first day of trading, the Electrolux share had a turnover of slightly more than SEK 60,000, compared with the daily average during 2010 of nearly SEK 500 million, making it one of the most traded companies in the Nordic region. Today, Electrolux is one of the world's leading manufacturers of household appliances. Jenny Rosberg, Senior Vice President at NASDAQ OMX Nordic, comments: “We're naturally extremely proud to have been the home market of such a world-leading company as Electrolux for 80 years. Since its initial listing in 1930, Electrolux's journey on the exchange has been fantastic, to say the least, and true confirmation of the Exchange's function as a catalyst for growth. Today, we have a significant share of major companies listed on our Nordic exchanges, and Electrolux is an outstanding example of a company that has grown from a small company into one of the world's best known brands via its exchange listing.” Hans Stråberg, President and CEO of Electrolux, comments: “Electrolux's exchange listing 80 years ago was the mainstay in our ability to grow and develop the business into today's global and industry-leading company that employs tens of thousands of people all over the world. The Exchange's function in terms of raising capital is unparalleled. At the same time, the transparency entailed by being a public company has helped us to instill confidence in our business and our products among both investors and end customers.” In the year 1930 when Electrolux was listed, total share trading on the Stockholm Stock Exchange was slightly more than SEK 500 million, to be compared with 2009 when total trading on NASDAQ OMX Stockholm exceeded SEK 3,400 billion. - # - About NASDAQ OMX The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. is the world's largest exchange company.
