MINNEAPOLIS, July 13, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Wireless Ronin Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:RNIN), a Minneapolis-based digital signage provider, has been honored by QSR magazine with two bi-annual Applied Technology Awards announced in the publication's July issue. QSR magazine selected the RoninCast® software-powered KFC digital menu boards and ARAMARK Burger Studio ordering kiosks as 2010 honorees.
Every two years, QSR magazine, a leading monthly food service publication, recognizes the best in technology innovation that improves and enhances the restaurant experience for operators, staff and customers.
"With these awards, we're looking for new products that are not just trendy, but ones that will save quick-serve operators time and money. RoninCast software does that by allowing operators to efficiently change their menu boards while reducing human error. Digital menu boards were incredibly popular in this year's awards, so I can only see this segment growing in the future," said Blair Chancey, editor of QSR magazine.
ARAMARK's Burger Studio interactive ordering kiosk was recognized in the competition's Customer Convenience Technology category. This category focuses on solutions that directly impact the customer experience by increasing convenience or service. Burger Studio concepts have been installed in a variety of college campuses and leverage both Wireless Ronin digital menu board technology and self-order kiosks that provide touch screen ordering and customization while improving service times.
KFC's digital menu board solutions topped QSR magazine's new 2010 Menu Board Technology category. KFC's digital menu board network earned honors because of its ability, through the RoninCast digital signage software, to provide secure, web-based control over the brand's entire signage network throughout the United States. In addition to ensuring accurate execution and limiting human error, the network decreases costs and time associated with new product launches, improves message compliance and enhances the customer experience.
"We are very pleased that the strength of our technology continues to be recognized," said Scott W. Koller, president and chief operating officer for Wireless Ronin. "This recognition validates the continued adoption of proven digital solutions in the food service industry."
