WILMINGTON, Del., June 24, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- WSFS Financial Corporation (Nasdaq:WSFS), the parent company of WSFS Bank, today announced the hiring of Lisa Dort and Anthony Ryan. Ms. Dort serves as Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager at Glen Mills, PA; and Mr. Ryan is Assistant Vice President and Small Business Relationship Manager for Delaware and Chester Counties in Pennsylvania. In addition, Michael Ciavarelli has been promoted to Vice President, Small Business Banking Director. He was formerly a Small Business Relationship Manager.

Ms. Dort joins WSFS with over 15 years of financial industry experience in Southeastern Pennsylvania. She was previously Vice President and Branch Manager at First CornerStone Bank in Delaware County, where she opened First CornerStone's sixth branch in 2011. Ms. Dort holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from The University of Delaware and is an active member of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, Secretary of the Chadds Ford Business and Professional Association, past President of the Rotary Club of Concordville-Chadds Ford, and past Treasurer and Board Member of the Western Delaware County Business and Professional Association. She resides in Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Ryan has over 20 years of proven business banking experience within the Philadelphia region. Prior to joining WSFS, he worked as Vice President and Senior Branch Manager at Sovereign Santander, where he actively built and expanded the commercial and retail customer relationships in Delaware and Chester Counties. He also served as District Executive for two years, leading 23 retail bank branches with cumulative bank deposits of over $1 billion. Mr. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Trinity College (Dublin) and is an active member of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce. He is a resident of Media, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Ciavarelli joined WSFS in 2007 to acquire, retain and enhance small business relationships in Northern New Castle County, Delaware and Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Prior to WSFS, he spent over 21 years in leadership roles with Wachovia, CoreStates and First Pennsylvania Bank. Mr. Ciavarelli attended St. Joseph University and received a certificate from The Graduate School of Retail Bank Management. Mr. Ciavarelli is a Board Member of The Foundation of the Delaware County Chamber; Board Member of the YMCA of Eastern Delaware County; Committee Member of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce; and Treasurer of the Primos Secane Swim Club. He resides in Secane, Pennsylvania.
