Sanatana Reports Positive Channel Sampling Gold Results, Drill Program to Commence at Watershed Property

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 19, 2011) - Sanatana Resources Inc. ("Sanatana" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:STA) is pleased to announce it has received positive channel sampling gold results from the Watershed property and has contracted the services of Surface Contract Drilling to commence drilling on the property within the next week. The Watershed property is optioned pursuant to the option and joint venture agreement with Augen Gold Corp. ("Augen"), whereby Sanatana has an option to acquire up to 51% of the Watershed property from Augen. For further details on the option to acquire the Watershed property see the Company's news release dated March 30, 2011. The proposed 2,500-metre drill program will focus initially on coincident IP and surface geochemistry anomalies located on the Clam Lake mineral claim # 3011820.

Based on the results received from grab samples as per the Company's news release of September 12, 2011, the Company has undertaken a trenching/channel sampling program on the Clam Lake mineral claim # 3011820. The Company has completed five trenches traversing two separate IP anomalies. Trenches 1, 2, 3 and 5 traverse the IP anomaly in the northeast quadrant of the claim at a spacing of 50 metres and trench 4 traverses the IP anomaly in the southwest quadrant of the claim. Channel sampling has now been completed on the five trenches and results have been received for three. Results have not yet been received for trenches 3 and 4 but the Company will release such results once received. Results from trenches 1, 2 and 5 returned significant gold values indicating continuity of gold mineralization of 100 m along strike at surface. To date, results have been received for 267 samples collected over 230.5 metres of channeling: 30 samples contained gold above 0.3 g/t Au, 13 of which returned gold values greater than 1 g/t Au.

Individual channel sample results greater than 1 g/t are listed in the table below:

Intervals greater than 1 g/t *:
Sample # Trench Length Au
849816 2 101 cm 6.18 g/t
849949 1 113 cm 4.42 g/t
849609 1 24 cm 3.69 g/t
849660 5 65 cm 3.03 g/t
849637 5 65 cm 2.89 g/t
849947 1 99 cm 2.86 g/t
849808 2 66 cm 2.24 g/t
849862 2 100 cm 1.98 g/t
849671 5 80 cm 1.64 g/t
849911 1 95 cm 1.36 g/t
849553 2 106 cm 1.16 g/t
849896 1 102 cm 1.05 g/t
849617 5 105 cm 1.02 g/t
* Assays for the samples were completed at SPJ Labs in Lively, Ontario, an ISO:9001 certified laboratory. Initial fire assay with atomic adsorption finish was completed for all samples, and subsequently, for samples in excess of 0.03 g/t, a conventional gravimetric assay was conducted. The Company randomly inserts reference standards, blanks and duplicate control samples to monitor laboratory performance. Results reported herein have been checked and have undergone quality control review.

Management of the Company is encouraged by these trenching/channel sampling results that are coincident with the subsurface apparent resistivity anomalies located on the Clam Lake claim. The drilling program will comprise approximately five drill holes of 500 metres over three sections spaced 100 metres apart testing the two discreet IP anomalies. Concurrently, trenching and sampling continues elsewhere on the property focusing on similar IP/Resistivity anomalies. Positive results from this work will also be tested by future drilling.
