NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Nov 15, 2011) - Information Builders, an independent leader in business intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced that LeanLogistics, a global provider of transportation management system (TMS) applications and supply-chain services, has standardized on Information Builders' BI technology. The move enables LeanLogistics to provide online reporting services to tens of thousands of users, who can now access high-level metrics and interact with their data via a secure web portal. Many of them are also using WebFOCUS InfoAssist to create custom reports without IT intervention.
"In order to empower clients to make the best use of their data, we needed a BI solution that could be deployed effectively in a Software as a Service (SaaS) model," said Andy Bass, vice president of Technology at LeanLogistics. "We were intrigued by the WebFOCUS technology, especially its ability to visualize data in charts and graphs, schedule reports with ReportCaster, and give people flexibility with InfoAssist, which lets customers analyze and display their data without having to conform to a rigid set of standards. Using Information Builders' BI technology, we provide our customers with an intuitive, high-end experience from start to finish."
LeanLogistics embedded a WebFOCUS dashboard into its TMS application that lets authorized users invoke ad hoc reports through a menu system or create their own reports through InfoAssist. Common reports provide a holistic view of network trends, assist with performance management, automate volume and lane analysis, manage carrier performance, and manage day-to-day schedules and notifications for trading partners. Information Builders' unique guided ad hoc reporting technology lets users easily parameterize the information, drilling down by group, division, shipping lane, origin, destination, time frame, and many other variables. LeanLogistics also developed a series of domain-specific tutorials to help customers gain self-sufficiency with InfoAssist. LeanLogistics is currently enhancing the reporting environment by adding user-defined fields, more scheduling options, and advanced data visualization capabilities. They are also exploring the mobile reporting capabilities of WebFOCUS Active Technologies to enable users to access reports and dashboards through smart phones, tablets, and other mobile computing devices.
"LeanLogistics operates in an information-intensive industry, where the ability to aggregate and analyze data in real time can make a world of difference to an individual client," said Gerald D. Cohen, president and CEO at Information Builders. "By enabling its customers to access ad hoc reports, custom reports, scheduled reports, and dashboards, the company is building stronger customer relationships and improving its competitive position in the logistics marketplace."
