Long Island Winterfest: Jazz on the Vine 2012

RIVERHEAD, NY--(Marketwire - Feb 7, 2012) - JAZZ ON THE VINE returns as the theme for 2012's Long Island Winterfest. Now in its fifth year, this event offers exceptional jazz performances in wineries every weekend from February 11 to March 18.

This year's program includes more than 70 jazz performances from top artists, including Grammy winners and nominees.

"The East End of Long Island is a great place to hear world-class music," said Pat Snyder, Executive Director of East End Arts, "This year's scheduled talent is amazing."

Grab your sweetheart, friends or family for a mini-getaway and enjoy jazz performances, wineries, hotels, B&Bs, restaurants and cultural venues. Admission is $15 per person per concert and includes a glass of wine* and a chance to win a free night's stay on the East End and a wine gift basket.

"The offers, promotions, discounts, events and getaways will tempt visitors to make a weekend out of Winterfest," said Kristen Matejka, director of marketing at the Long Island Convention & Visitors Bureau. "Book a limo, reserve a room at a cozy east end inn or enjoy restaurants, retailers and more all at special Winterfest rates."

Steve Bate, Executive Director of the Long Island Wine Council, expects a larger turnout in 2012: "The schedule is even better than last year, with more performances at more wineries. There's already a buzz among musicians, wineries, local businesses and wine and jazz lovers eager for the fun to begin."

"Suffolk County is proud to support Jazz on the Vine -- it's a great time and a great deal. Whether you're looking for a weekend getaway or a night out, East End wineries have much to offer," said Steven Bellone, Suffolk's County Executive.

Winterfest is organized by East End Arts, the Long Island Wine Council, the Long Island Convention and Visitors Bureau, with support from Suffolk County, East End Getaways, Teatro Experimental Yerbabruja and Peconic Public Broadcasting and guidance from the Office of Film & Cultural Affairs.
