BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - Apr 12, 2012) - uTest, the leading provider of in-the-wild software testing, announced that Jit Saxena, the CEO and founder of Netezza prior to its acquisition by IBM, has joined uTest's Board of Directors. A tech industry veteran with more than 35 years experience, Jit also serves on the boards for Demandware, Actifio, Apptegic and TIE-Boston.
Most recently, Jit served in the executive capacity as CEO and then chairman of Netezza Corporation, which he founded in 2000. Netezza successfully pioneered the development of data warehousing appliances and remains a leading provider of data warehousing and analytics products for online businesses, retail, telecommunications, financial services and government markets worldwide. Under Jit's leadership, Netezza emerged a fast-growing public company and was eventually acquired by IBM in 2009.
"Jit has an incredible track record of success, serving as CEO and founder of two companies that disrupted incumbents and went public, despite highly-competitive market conditions," said Doron Reuveni, CEO and co-founder of uTest. "Considering uTest's steep growth and our ambition to become the first crowdsourcing company to file an IPO, we're excited to have Jit join our Board. His addition will help uTest further capitalize on the rapid market adoption of in-the-wild testing."
Prior to Netezza, Jit was CEO and founder of Applix Inc, which pioneered decision support applications for open environments. Applix went public in 1994 and was later was acquired by Cognos/IBM. Jit received a BS in Electrical Engineering from IIT Mumbai, a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University and an MBA from Boston University.
As part of this addition to its Board, uTest also permitted Saxena to make a personal investment in the company.
