Husky Energy to Unveil Lloydminster Heavy Oil Initiatives


CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - May 10, 2012) - Husky Energy (TSX:HSE) will unveil three new initiatives supporting the continued development of its heavy oil resources in the Lloydminster region on Thursday, May 17.

The initiatives include the grand opening of Husky Place, a new central office facility for the Company's nearly 300 employees involved in the production and development of heavy oil. Husky has been a leading producer of heavy oil in the Lloydminster area for 65 years and the investment in Husky Place signifies the Company's continued confidence in the business.

Husky will also announce a significant community donation that is aimed at fostering the development of heavy oil skills and expertise.

Thirdly, the Company will unveil its new carbon dioxide (CO2) capture and liquefaction facility. The facility captures CO2 emissions from Husky's ethanol plant, which are then utilized to enhance heavy oil recovery from area reservoirs.
