David Hicks named new President of EMGS North South America

David Hicks has been appointed by EMGS to take over the role of President of the EMGS North South America business unit. He will be based in Houston, Texas and report to CEO Roar Bekker.

David has an extensive background in the oil and gas industry. After receiving his MSc at the University of Southern California, he worked as a Senior Exploration Geologist for Exxon developing prospects in the onshore US. He then worked in the geological and geophysical software interpretation segment, ultimately as Senior Vice President for Product Development at Landmark Graphics, a Halliburton Company.

Most recently, David worked for TGS Inc., initially as the company's Chief Technology Officer and then as Senior Vice President for the Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific division. David led the acquisition of all multi-client data acquisition services including seismic, well, remote sensing and interpretive surveys. He has a strong background working with both customers and government agencies throughout the world.

"David has established himself as a top-performing executive with excellent leadership skills. His international track record in the oil and gas industry, and his multi-client experience in particular, will be important as we further develop the EM market," says Roar Bekker.

Dave Ridyard will continue in the role of acting President of EMGS North South America until David Hicks takes over later this month. Ridyard will then transition to his new, permanent role as Executive Vice President of Strategic Business Development for the Company.

About EMGS
EMGS, the marine EM market leader, uses its proprietary electromagnetic (EM) technology to support oil and gas companies in their search for offshore hydrocarbons. EMGS supports each stage in the workflow, from survey design and data acquisition to processing and interpretation. The company's services enable integration of EM data with seismic and other geophysical and geological information to give explorationists a clearer and more complete understanding of the subsurface. This improves exploration efficiency, and reduces risks and the finding costs per barrel.

EMGS has conducted more than 600 surveys to improve drilling success rates across the world's mature and frontier offshore basins. The company operates on a worldwide basis with main offices in Trondheim, Stavanger and Oslo, Norway; Houston, USA; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Please visit www.emgs.com for more information.
