Global BPO Major to Invest in an 8000 People Campus in Carmona


CARMONA, PHILIPPINES--(Marketwire - May 10, 2012) - Rochester, US headquartered BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) and ITeS (Information Technology Enabled Services) major Sutherland Global Services has announced that the company is planning a significant expansion in the Philippines. As part of this expansion, Sutherland will be investing $50 million in a world class 8,000 people Integrated Technology and BPO Campus to be set up in Carmona Cavite, Philippines.

In the Philippines, Sutherland already has a strong presence with over 13,000 people. When the current expansion is completed and once the campus becomes fully operational, Sutherland would have had a significant expansion to its headcount in the Philippines.

Globally, Sutherland is one of the world's largest pure-play BPO companies with over 30,000 people working out of its 35 operations centers and 10 countries (US, Philippines, India, UAE, Egypt, Bulgaria, UK, Canada, Mexico, Colombia).

The Ground-breaking ceremony for the Campus took place today in the presence of His Excellency President Benigno Aquino and Dilip Vellodi, Chairman and CEO, Sutherland Global Services.

Fastest BPO growth
Since its launch in the Philippines in 2005, Sutherland has seen a rapid ramp up of its BPO operations in the country growing from 0 to 13000 people in just 7 years. Currently, over 70% of the company's services are delivered out of the New wave cities. This pioneering BPO initiative in the provinces has been led by Sutherland in partnership with the Govt. of Philippines.
