Hip Hop Hall of Fame Awards TV Show Comes to World Famous Apollo Theater in November 2012

NEW YORK, May 16, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The World Famous Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York will host the return of the Hip Hop Hall of Fame Awards TV Show Induction Ceremony and Concert. The show will take place in November 2012 during the Hip Hop History Month celebration and include a week of co-branded activities. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale July 4th, 2012. 

The Hip Hop Hall of Fame will unveil the 2012 Inductee Class nominees at a special benefit concert event in July 2012 in New York City. The Awards show will feature special guest appearances and performances from music artists, film, sports, television, and fashion celebrities, industry executives, and community leaders. 

The two-hour Hip Hop Hall of Fame Awards will then broadcast on national television in early December 2012. This is the first Hip Hop Hall of Fame Awards televised show since it premiered in the 1990's in syndication, and on the BET cable network. "We are actively pushing forward in our pre-production and talent booking efforts to make the Hip Hop Hall of Fame Awards TV Show and Week of Events the premiere annual Hip Hop History event for many years to come," stated show Creator and Executive Producer James 'JT' Thompson. Proceeds from the Awards Show will be utilized to open the Hip Hop Hall of Fame Museum in New York City in 2013-14.
