MUNDELEIN, Ill., May 22, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Medline Industries, Inc., today announced that HealthTrust Purchasing Group, L.P., ("HealthTrust") has awarded Medline an agreement to provide its full line of instrument sterilization wraps and accessories to HealthTrust members, beginning June 1, 2012. The agreement is expected to drive significant savings and efficiencies for HealthTrust's 4,000 members.
The agreement includes Medline's Gemini sterilization wraps, which provide protection for surgical instruments against contact contamination during handling and provide an effective barrier to microbial penetration. Made of a durable nonwoven, spunbond fabric (SMS), Gemini wraps provide the highest level of protection against fluids and particles. Gemini wraps are strong and resistant to tears, but the fabric is still soft so it's easy to drape.
In addition to wraps and accessories, Medline also offers HealthTrust members education courses on best practices in sterile processing and central sterile through Medline University, the company's free online educational resource.
