Interim report – First half year of 2012
Revenue up by 5% in first half of 2012. Full-year guidance maintained.
CEO Kurt Bager said: “Our 5% revenue improvement in the first half of 2012 was driven mainly by Secure Remote Control. We continue to see growing activity in this business area, especially in the Nordic market. Our strong sales organisation in Denmark covers the EMEA region and our new VP of Sales for this area is off to a good start. We've developed a new concept combining Secure Remote Control with Live Chat. It enhances efficiency and reduces costs in large corporate IT help desk functions, and we expect it will contribute to the growth performance in Secure Remote Control in the second half of the year. I've now settled in at our Chicago office and am working with our sales team on a number of exciting projects. I see a big potential in the US market and I expect we will have more and better opportunities in this market than ever before.”
Highlights of the six months to June 30, 2012.
- Revenue amounted to DKK 44.2 million in H1 2012, an increase of 5% from DKK 42.1 million in H1 2011.
- Revenue in the Secure Remote Control segment amounted to DKK 25.1 million, against DKK 23.2 million in H1 2011. Classroom Management revenue was DKK 15.1 million against DKK 16.1 million in H1 2011. Live Chat revenue amounted to DKK 2.0 million in H1 2012, compared to DKK 1.8 million in H1 2011.
- Revenue from the EMEA/APAC region was DKK 24.5 million in H1 2012, against DKK 22.5 million in H1 2011. Revenue from the USA was DKK 19.7 million in H1 2012 against DKK 19.6 million in H1 2011.
- EBITDA was a loss of DKK 4.2 million in H1 2012, against a loss of DKK 0.6 million in the same period of last year. The EBITDA decline was mainly due to the greater business activity resulting from investments made.
- Netop Solutions incurred a net loss of DKK 10.8 million in H1 2012, against a DKK 6.5 million loss in the year-earlier period.
- Management confirms the guidance for 2012 announced on March 13, 2012: We continue to expect FY 2012 revenue in the DKK 95-105 million range, and FY 2012 EBITDA in the DKK 0-5 million range.
