TOWNSEND, TN--(Marketwire - Oct 2, 2012) - A Smoky Mountain golf course, located just beside Cade's Cove in Townsend, Tenn., will sell at a real estate auction on October 18. Sitting on 141 acres, the 18-hole, par-70 Laurel Valley Golf Course will be offered by J. P. King Auction Company.
"It's just a unique place," said Jay Crippen, part owner of the Laurel Valley Golf Course. "Other than the beautiful area and the views, it backs up to the National Park, so we see a lot of wildlife that makes a challenging course even more enjoyable."
The Laurel Valley Golf Course is a public course that also offers private memberships and recently underwent an extensive update. Now equipped with a fitness center and pool area, which includes a snack bar and sweeping views of the Smoky Mountains, the property provides activities for the entire family. The Laurel Valley Golf Course also features a 1.5-story clubhouse that includes a pro shop, commercial kitchen, restaurant and a bar downstairs, while a 60-seat conference room with Smoky Mountain views, wood beamed ceilings and hardwood floors are located above.

The course has not been listed for sale outside of the upcoming auction. The most visited park in the United States, the Great Smoky Mountains attract over 9 million tourists annually from all over the world to the front door of the golf course.
The auction will take place on Thursday, October 18 at 2 p.m. at the clubhouse, which is located at 702 Country Club Drive in Townsend, Tennessee.
