SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 4, 2012) - The Online Trust Alliance (OTA) today announced leadership honors for member companies and individuals at the Online Trust Forum, OTA's annual gathering of thought leaders in security and privacy from private, public and consumer sectors. The accolades include the Member of the Year award, President Leadership Council awards, and Online Trust Advisory Council awards, recognizing individuals and companies who have excelled in their commitment to enhance consumer protection, multi-stakeholder collaboration and adoption of voluntary codes of conduct and best practices. The Forum coincides with the launch of National Cyber Security Awareness Month promoting the importance of public-private partnerships, advancing best practices and teachable moments to improve online safety and trust.
The following companies were named to the President Leadership Council: DigiCert, Intersections Inc., MarkMonitor, Message Systems, PayPal, Publishers Clearing House, Return Path, Symantec, and TrustSphere. Online Trust Advisory Council honors went to AllClear ID, Epsilon, IID, LashBack, Microsoft, Pitney Bowes, Secunia, and Verisign.
The Member of the Year finalists were determined from dozens of nominations by their security and privacy peers in the OTA, on the basis of their strong commitment to collaboration and hard work in support of the OTA mission. Finalists included: Jim Brock, CEO, PrivacyChoice; Tim Draegen, principal of Eudaemonic Inc.; Summer Koide, vice president of products and services, ZEDO; and Jeff Wilbur, vice president of marketing, Iconix; with the 2012 Member of the Year honor going to Draegen.
