MacAulay-Brown Files Provisional Patent for New Data Delivery Technology

DAYTON, Ohio, Nov. 14, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB), a leading National Security company providing innovative engineering and technical solutions to Defense, Intelligence, Homeland Security and Federal agencies, announced today that it filed a provisional patent application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on October 11, 2012.

U.S. Patent Application 61712641, entitled "Matched Representation Space Method for Numerically Encoded Data," opens up new dimensions in data delivery and compression technology that can be used in the intelligence, medical imaging and data communications communities. The new capability resulted from MacB research and development focused on improving Data Delivery Technology (DDT). MacB DDT, as stated in the patent, provides a simple but more precise way to represent all numeric binary data used in almost every form of communication and data processing. This includes video, imagery and other signals transmitted digitally. The technology is applicable to a wide range of data sets beyond binary data.

DDT was developed by a team of MacB engineers, including: Dr. John A. Kosinski, Richard V. Burns, Steven R. Lindle, Elliott J. Moser, Nick A. Pequignot and Dr. Rich J. Kozick (a MacB consultant). The MacB invention offers great potential to provide customers the means to selectively manage data precision across all data types used in recording, transmitting and the analysis of information. DDT also provides data compression without artifacts or distortions while permitting backfill of selected data without retransmitting what was already sent.

"MacB prides itself on employing the best and brightest in the industry to ensure we are providing our customers with advanced engineering services and National Security solutions," said Tim Lawrence, Senior Vice President for MacB's Advanced Technology Group. "The technology developed by the research team makes it much easier to manage precision across the entire spectrum of voice and data communication. More important, it allows MacB to better support our National Security customers."
