'The Game of Books' Reaches Homestretch of Kickstarter Fundraising Campaign

The Game of Books Announces 95 Percent of Campaign Goal Funded With 24 Hours to Go


BOISE, Idaho, Dec. 17, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- With just 22 hours left to reach the $102,364 Kickstater fundraising goal, The Game of Books is asking for your support in closing the last five percent before 3:00 p.m. EST, Monday, December 17, 2012.

The Game of Books has just under 1,000 backers who have raised over $97,000, 60 percent of that in just the last week. Literary icons have been supportive of the project, such as; Patrick Rothfuss, #1 New York Times best selling author of The Kingkiller Chronicle; Warren Adler, New York Times bestselling author of The War of The Roses; and New York Times bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken, to name a few.

Raising more funds before the December 17 deadline is crucial in fulfilling the development of The Game of Books, a new interactive reading project and mobile app. The Game has been referred to as "Foursquare for books", as the game rewards readers with points and badges for the worlds and themes they find in the books they read.
