Adapt IP Ventures and Tunipop Announce Partnership; Filed New Patent Application Related to Associating Streaming Content and Merchandise

ATLANTA and BOULDER, Colo., March 20, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tunipop, Inc. announces a new partnership with Adapt IP Ventures focused on building and monetizing the company's patent portfolio. Additionally, Tunipop is pleased to announce the filing of a U.S. patent application related to methods and systems for facilitating on-line electronic commerce transactions relating to the sale of goods, merchandise, services, and/or special offers.

Tunipop's patent pending solution enables musicians and other entertainment brand owners to associate their merchandise with streaming content to drive incremental new sales opportunities. For example, a consumer can be listening to online music or watching a video and be presented with a highly targeted opportunity to purchase merchandise or other offers associated with that artist or band.

"Music and other forms of entertainment are increasingly being consumed from online sources and on multiple devices," says Andy Young, Founder and CEO of Tunipop. "Our software takes an end-to-end approach, from moving upstream to the aggregation of the supply chain, to the correlation of the brands in media with available merchandise, combined with an in-stream commerce capability that keeps the consumer engaged in the content along with post sale support. Working with Adapt IP will assure progression of our patenting efforts and maximize our investment in this growing marketplace."

The patent application, U.S. No. 13/779,150 titled "Techniques for facilitating on-line electronic commerce transactions relating to the sale of goods and merchandise", was filed on February 27, 2013 with the request for an accelerated examination and has a priority filing date of August 2010.

"We are committed to funding the ongoing development of Tunipop's patent portfolio, so they can focus on building and executing their business plan," stated Grant Moss, CEO of Adapt IP Ventures. "We believe that the patent portfolio will provide significant value to the company as the business grows."
