New York, NY, Dec. 20, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The contract will support the standardization of visitor management throughout the Fairfax County school district. With 173 schools, ScholarChip presented an enterprise option that was easily configurable to match their requirements. Alongside a centralized management and reporting system - within a highly secure data center - ScholarChip's technology presents an innately scalable model, which gives administrators the potential to manage visitors at county and school-wide levels from their always-available web portal.

While the Visitor Management System will register and track adult visitors, it can also be operated to search for a possible match against publically-available offender data, as well as integrate with District-issued credentials to speed faculty and staff building entry. Under ScholarChip's umbrella of services, The District now has the ability to integrate ScholarChip's contactless card technology into its visitor policies by issuing adult volunteers and frequently-visiting parents a pre-authorized contactless ID card. In addition, the District can now automate the management of student pick-up by integrating the visitor system with their Student Information System.

Fairfax County joins a growing list of schools throughout the country - such as Princeton City Schools in Ohio and Long Beach School District in New York - that have recently added ScholarChip's Visitor Management System to their security systems.

ScholarChip is a New York-based technology firm providing K-12 schools with a comprehensive School Safety and Operation System (SSOS). By selecting ScholarChip, Fairfax has positioned itself to move, as need and budget dictate, towards a centralization of its safety information.
