CINCINNATI, OH--(Marketwired - Feb 6, 2014) - Etegent Technologies Ltd., a Cincinnati- and Dayton-based research and development company, has moved into its new Norwood, Ohio headquarters, taking over the first floor of the American Laundry Building at 5050 Section Ave. For the past six years, Etegent has been based out of the graduate space at the Hamilton County Business Center. After outgrowing its former headquarters, Etegent turned to Sean Mangialardo at Cresa Cincinnati, an international corporate real estate advisory firm, to find a new location to support the growing technology company. Etegent also worked with Cincinnati-based Emersion DESIGN and RJE Business Interiors on the interior design and to develop a functional workplace environment. Currently, Etegent has 25 people based out of its Norwood offices with four full-time staff at its Dayton location.
The 12,000 square-foot facility expands Etegent's office and meeting space, and includes a test lab and a machine shop for prototyping and testing the company's innovative technologies. As part of its ongoing R&D contracts with the U.S. military and commercial aviation industry partners, Etegent is developing vibration and temperature sensors for improved monitoring and control of turbine gas engines. This capability extends the life of the engines while making them operate more efficiently and with less emissions. Etegent's NDI Division is also working on tools and services to change how organizations use inspection, maintenance and manufacturing data. In 2009, Etegent launched NLign Analytics, an independent division devoted to supporting the carbon composites industry.
"We have accomplished amazing things in the past 17 years, and moving to our new location provides us the extra space and freedom to continue to grow and develop innovative ion technologies that solve real-world challenges," said Stuart Shelley, principal and co-founder of Etegent. "We wanted to stay close to our roots, and establishing a long-term presence in an up-and-coming area of Norwood will allow us to grow and maintain our relationship with the Norwood community and the University of Cincinnati. The new facility is perfect for our focus on R&D and developing commercial technologies that we can spin-off into new companies, similar to NLign Analytics. We appreciate the help from Cresa, RJE and Emersion, which have made this a smooth and exciting transition for our company."
Tom Sharp, principal and co-founder of Etegent added, "During the past several years, we have developed an exceptional reputation, and more companies and contractors are coming to us to help them with their technology challenges. Our new headquarters becomes the center for these conversations and the innovations that will make our customers' products safer, more efficient and more reliable. While we have a new front door, our mission is the same, and we look forward to growing Etegent and enjoying many more successful years in the area."
