Palm Springs, Feb. 19, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs will officially celebrate its arrival in Southern California with a star-studded Grand Opening celebration on March 6th, 2014, featuring a poolside performance by Phantogram, starting at 9 p.m. The popular hazy dream-pop duo consisting of Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel, released their highly anticipated sophomore album "Voices" this week.

As the first music-inspired hotel in Palm Springs, the Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs Grand Opening marks a new chapter in Palm Springs tourism, as the area is experiencing a revival ignited by a new wave of visitors to the area. Palm Spring's standing as a mecca for music lovers, being home to the famed Coachella and Stagecoach festivals, is heightened by the Hard Rock Hotel's introduction.

A spectacular evening of entertainment, the Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs Grand Opening revelry is headlined by Phantogram, which sold out its only other public southern California show (upcoming on February 22) at the Hollywood Palladium theater weeks in advance. The band is breaking ground in the music scene with their distinct infusion of electronic loops, hip-hop beats, soul sounds and dream-like pop influences. Their newest album, "Voices," dropped just yesterday, February 18, via Republic Records.

The Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs Grand Opening event will also include a variety of popular DJs and a star-studded invitation list, including hotel industry movers and shakers, as well as recognizable names in the music industry, such as Paul Tollett and Skip Paige of Goldenvoice.  A limited number of room packages, which include entry to the event, will be made available in coming weeks. Individual tickets to this exclusive grand opening party will also be available for $20 at the door.

"We are just getting started," said hotel owner Andy Carpiac.
