ONB Announces Changes to Risk Department Leadership Team


  • Vanderburgh County Sheriff Eric Williams will join Old National as Director of Security
  • Fraud Manager Sherry Meeks promoted to Operational Risk Director

EVANSVILLE, Ind., April 29, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today Old National (Nasdaq:ONB) announced a restructuring of the company's Risk Department, which will lead to the creation of two new positions: Director of Security and Operational Risk Director.

Vanderburgh County Sheriff Eric Williams, whose term was slated to end later this year, has accepted the new role of SVP, Director of Security, effective May 27, 2014. In this new role, he will be responsible for Old National's Business Continuity Planning, Insurance Risk Management and Physical Security.

A resident of Vanderburgh County, Williams graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a bachelor's degree in Business. He has served in the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office for more than 20 years and was elected Sheriff of Vanderburgh County in 2007. He is currently serving his 2nd term. Williams is very active in the Evansville community. Among the boards he currently serves on are Youth Resources of Southwestern Indiana, Red Cross, Leadership Evansville, Albion Fellows Bacon Center, Marian Education Outreach, and the University of Southern Indiana Foundation.

Old National Fraud Manager Sherry Meeks has been promoted to SVP, Operational Risk Director. In her new role, which takes effect on May 5, 2014, Meeks will add responsibility for Old National's Information Security team to her current Fraud Management duties and responsibilities.

In 2009, Meeks returned to Old National as Information Security Manager after initially serving the company in a variety of auditing and analysis roles from 1987-95. She also served as Internal Audit Manager for Integra Bank from 2006-09. In the fall of 2011, Meeks assumed the role of Fraud Manager for Old National. She holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Southern Indiana, and completed the Graduate School of Retail Bank Management in 2009. She is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor.
