JOHNSTOWN, PA., May 14, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Margaret DiVirgilio, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC), has been awarded the Howard H. Cork Memorial Award for her distinguished service to the National Defense Industrial Association's (NDIA's) Procurement Division. The NDIA is America's leading defense industry association promoting national security.
On May 5, 2014, Ms. DiVirgilio was recognized for her important contributions, not only to the NDIA, but to government and industry in general. Since 1967, the Cork Award has been awarded to NDIA Procurement Committee members who have given extensively of their time and energy for the general good of NDIA, the defense industry and the government agencies involved in national security.

She has also given generously of her time to support a number of community organizations to educate people about the field of defense contracting and procurement," said Edward J. Ms. DiVirgilio has been an active member of the NDIA Procurement Division and Contract Finance Committee since 2002. She serves as a Trustee of the NDIA Board of Directors and Chair of the Audit Committee. She currently serves on the NDIA Procurement Executive Committee and is a past Chair of the NDIA Contract Finance Committee.
In addition to NDIA, Ms. DiVirgilio is active in a number of other organizations. She is a member of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) where she is on the Board of Advisors (National and Johnstown Chapter) and currently serves on the Budget Committee.
Ms. DiVirgilio is a member of Women in Defense (WID), a National Security Organization and affiliate of NDIA, and has served as past president and on the Board of Directors for eight consecutive years. WID cultivates and supports the advancement and recognition of women in all aspects of national security. She is also a member of the Board of Directors, serving as treasurer and member of the Executive Committee of the Women and Girls Foundation (WGF). The WGF is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, serving eleven counties in the Southwest Pennsylvania region.
Ms. DiVirgilio joined CTC in 1992, and in addition to serving as Senior Vice President and CFO, she is a member of CTC's Board of Directors and a member of the Finance Committee of the Board. She is responsible for corporate-wide policy development in areas such as Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Financial Systems, and Contracts & Procurement. Ms. DiVirgilio earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Seton Hill University and received her CPA certification from the Commonwealth of Virginia.
