Riviera Hires Former SugarCRM Exec Majed Itani as VP of Engineering

Itani Will Drive Recruiting Industry Forward, and Lead Efforts to Grow the Company's Technology Apps

San Francisco, CA, Nov. 19, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Riviera, a recruiting firm providing tech-enabled services to companies seeking the best engineering talent, today announced the appointment of Majed Itani as VP of Engineering. Majed will draw on more than a decade of experience to enhance the company's technology, including further developing Sutro, the data aggregation platform that allows Rivera's team of experienced recruiters to make the best possible matches between candidates and clients.

Majed is a key hire as part of Riviera's ongoing effort to build out a technology platform and services to change how recruiting and hiring are done. To date, Riviera has been heavily focused on data analytics and matching algorithms to support their recruiting services.  This effort, led by Partner Sandy Ma, will now be enhanced through further development of applications that take advantage of and advance this work.

Prior to joining Riviera, Majed was with SugarCRM for more than 10 years, last serving on the executive team as VP of Development. He joins the company with six patents under his belt.

"Majed was brought on to take our technology platform, Sutro, and other Riviera apps to the next level," said Ali Behnam, Managing Partner of Riviera. "He has a true understanding of role technology can play in changing this industry."

"In the early days of tech recruiting, engineers didn't understand recruiting and recruiters didn't understand tech," said Itani. "With Sutro, and the skilled team we've dedicated to its development, we're bridging that gap and giving our recruiters the tools they need to find the true diamonds in the rough."
