Aptean Acquires Verdiem to Power Energy Efficiency for Customers

ATLANTA, Jan. 12, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Aptean announced today the acquisition of Verdiem, a leader in energy management software for IT devices. Verdiem's technology has helped more than 750 organizations reduce their carbon footprint by increasing energy efficiency for more than 2.5 million devices. Verdiem's proactive power management for PCs, Macs, network and print devices reduces energy consumption by up to 60 percent and has helped save customers more than $250 million.

"This acquisition enables Aptean to strengthen our offering of enterprise business solutions while helping our customers become more sustainable and energy efficient in their facilities—'where the work gets done,'" said Kim Eaton, chief executive officer, Aptean.

Verdiem solutions provide a unified approach for IT device data collection, policy management, administration and analytics. The technology meets the most demanding enterprise requirements for scalability, reliability, and security, and provides customers with quantitative results for dollars saved, energy consumption reduced, and CO2 emissions lowered.

"Verdiem customers and partners now join a family of nearly 5,000 Aptean customers that share a similar focus of reducing operational costs and increasing efficiencies throughout their organizations," continued Eaton. "Verdiem solutions will fit very well within Aptean's Service & Support offerings, which are focused on reducing costs through optimizing operational processes."

Organizations of all kinds have benefitted from Verdiem's IT power management solutions to help serve their operational efficiency goals. As examples, a large banking institution was able to save the company more than $13,000 per month on its energy bill after U.S. energy prices spiked; a school district realized enough cost savings to cover several full-time teacher salaries; and one government organization was able to set an example for its local business community by becoming a better steward to the environment while enjoying a $15,000 reduction on their annual energy bill at the same time.

"We are excited for Verdiem customers to now be part of the larger Aptean ecosystem. Aptean's strong commitment to customer success through great support services and ongoing product investments will further increase our customers' return on their Verdiem technology investment," said John Scumniotales, chief executive officer, Verdiem.
