Authentidate's InscrybeMD Telehealth Solution Expanded to Several Florida Hospital Locations

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, N.J., Jan. 13, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Authentidate Holding Corp. (Nasdaq:ADAT), a provider of secure web-based software applications and telehealth products and services for healthcare organizations, today announced that three additional Florida Hospital locations in Volusia and Flagler counties have selected Authentidate's InscrybeMD® telehealth solution to provide clinical services to their patients remotely at Florida Hospital DeLand (DeLand, FL), Florida Hospital Fish Memorial (Orange City, FL), and Florida Hospital Flagler (Palm Coast, FL). A fourth Florida Hospital facility, Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center (Daytona Beach, FL), has been using this technology since 2014.

Florida Hospital is a health care organization with 45 hospital campuses and nearly 8,300 licensed beds in 10 states. Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center is a member of the Premier Group Purchase Organization, which provides additional advantages and savings for them under Authentidate's vendor agreement with Premier.

In 2014, Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center began with a pilot program of the InscrybeMD telehealth solution with their program Florida Hospital Community Care. This program is designed to help their patients with the follow-up care they need to manage chronic diseases and conditions, including chronic heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and diabetes and hypertension. Through this program and the implementation of the InscrybeMD telehealth solution, the hospital has been able to monitor patients remotely to improve healthcare outcomes, reduce unnecessary ER visits and hospital admissions, and improve patient satisfaction and experience. The care coordination is performed by Florida Hospital Community Care within the patient's home, overseen by an interdisciplinary clinical team, and supported by student health coaches from Bethune-Cookman University.

"In our own pilot program, the InscrybeMD telehealth solution has proven to be a valuable clinical management tool that helps keep our patients on their care plans, improves patient outcomes and reduces readmissions. We feel that this solution provides the tools and support for our clinical staff to accomplish our patient care goals," commented Irene de Jesus, Regional Director at Florida Hospital Community Care program.

The four Florida Hospitals in Volusia and Flagler counties will be expanding their use of Authentidate's InscrybeMD telehealth solutions with the InscrybeMD Telehealth Tablets.

The easy-to-use InscrybeMD Telehealth Tablet is a unique, highly mobile and inexpensive remote patient monitoring device. The touch screen device delivers seamless continuity of care to specific patient segments that require regular monitoring of medical conditions while they continue with their daily routines. Automated reminders increase patients' compliance with care plans, diets, medication schedules and follow-up physician visits and reduce the need for face-to-face visits.

On the secure InscrybeMD web application, Florida Hospital clinical providers view each patient's vital sign results and make adjustments to care plans, which is then communicated to the patient via the Telehealth Tablet device during scheduled sessions.

While improving medical condition monitoring, the Telehealth Tablet also provides patients with disease management education that their clinician selects for them to view on the device. The InscrybeMD Telehealth solution helps to reduce costs, support improved patient health outcomes, and reduce hospital readmissions. InscrybeMD Telehealth solutions have also proven effective in assisting in the management of a number of other patient illnesses, behavioral health conditions and wellness programs.

"I'm very pleased that Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center's successful pilot resulted in a decision to expand their program with us," said Todd Grundy, Sales Director at Authentidate. "Now, they will be able to improve their patients' health outcomes and reduce readmissions with our InscrybeMD telehealth solutions in several other Florida Hospital locations. We look forward to empowering Florida Hospital's clinical staff to deliver on their goals."
