PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwired - Jan 22, 2015) - The Arizona Lottery announces the $5 million dollar Mega Millions winning ticket from the drawing on Tuesday, January 13, has been claimed.
Mike and Nancy Baker, Sun City West residents, purchased the Mega Millions winning ticket from a Safeway located at 13503 W. Camino Del Sol in Sun City West. The ticket was claimed at the Arizona Lottery office in Phoenix, and the couple received the prize of $5 million before taxes. Currently, the Bakers do not have definite plans for the money as they are waiting until they get together with family to decide.
"The win still has not registered, but we called family after we made sure it was real," Mike said.
The winning ticket matched five of the Baker's self-picked numbers. This would generally result in a $1 million second prize; however, the prize was quintupled by the Megaplier®, making this the largest Mega Millions winning ticket ever sold in Arizona.

The next Mega Millions draw is Friday, Jan. 23, for an estimated $20 million jackpot. Tickets can be purchased at any Arizona Lottery retailer. Players can check their tickets by visiting ArizonaLottery.com.
Players must be 21 years or older to purchase or redeem tickets. Winners have 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prize at an Arizona Lottery office or by mail. Overall odds vary by game.
