TerraTherm Recipient of 2014 Environmental Business Journal (EBJ) Awards

GARDNER, MA--(Marketwired - February 05, 2015) - Environmental Business Journal® (EBJ), a business research publication which provides high value strategic business intelligence to the environmental industry, has honored 50 companies for revenue growth, acquisitions, innovative project designs, technology applications, new practice areas, social contributions and industry leadership in 2014.

TerraTherm, Inc. is pleased to announce that it was awarded EBJ's Gold Medal for Business Achievement in the Midsize Firm category as well as a Project Merit Award for Remediation.

"In what is widely regarded as a stable market, a number of companies exceeded the norms of low single-digit growth with double-digit growth or ambitious ventures into new practice areas or technology development," said Grant Ferrier, president of Environmental Business International Inc. (EBI, San Diego), publisher of Environmental Business Journal.

TerraTherm was recognized for growth in revenue and project diversification. The company increased revenue nearly three-fold to $30 million from 2011 to 2014 and has generated backlog and a near-term project pipeline supporting a forecast of revenue in excess of $36 million for 2015. In 2014, TerraTherm designed, constructed, and began operation of the largest in situ thermal remediation project ever attempted in the world, at the former Williams Air Force Base in Mesa, Arizona. This Steam Enhanced Extraction (SEE) system is treating a subsurface volume of 410,000 cubic yards, containing up to 2,000,000 gallons of jet fuel, to a depth of 245 feet below ground surface.

TerraTherm was also recognized for its role in delivering and implementing the In Situ Thermal Desorption (ISTD) remedial solution at the Teterboro Landing site, covering an area of 3.2 acres with a treated volume of 122,000 cubic yards of contaminated soil. The cleanup at the site, which operated for less than eight months and was completed in 2014, constituted the largest ISTD project ever completed. The 2014 EBJ awards will be presented at a special ceremony at the Environmental Industry Summit XIII in San Diego, Calif. on March 11-13, 2015. The Environmental Industry Summit is an annual three-day executive retreat hosted by EBI Inc.
