Ontario Scene Launches at the National Arts Centre

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - March 2, 2015) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The National Arts Centre (NAC) is receiving $600,000 in funding from the Department of Canadian Heritage to present the Ontario Scene Festival at the NAC and other venues throughout the National Capital Region.

Royal Galipeau, Member of Parliament (Ottawa-Orléans), made this announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, during the unveiling of the Ontario Scene schedule.

• Ontario Scene, a festival showcasing 600 artists from across Ontario, is being held at the National Arts Centre from April 29 to May 10, 2015.
• The Scenes are a series of biennial, regionally focussed, multidisciplinary festivals that highlight the best in Canadian arts and culture from coast to coast to coast.
• Ontario Scene will be the seventh Scene event produced by the NAC. The previous editions showcased Atlantic Canada, Alberta, Quebec, British Columbia, the Prairies and the Northern regions. The NAC estimates an audience of more than 50,000 for Ontario Scene.
