Manitoba Students to See Dramatic Film on the Aftermath of Impaired Driving

MADD Canada and Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) Deliver Latest School Assembly Program to Students at Oak Park High School in Winnipeg

OAKVILLE, ON--(Marketwired - March 10, 2015) - Impaired driving takes a disproportionate toll on young people. Continuing education and awareness is crucial to preventing deadly crashes. MADD Canada and MPI are proud to team up again this year to bring the important sober driving messaging to Manitoba students through the dynamic School Assembly Program.

This year's film, titled Aftermath, tells the fictional story of Charlie, as told by his younger brother Mark. When Charlie decides to drive after drinking and smoking pot -- and convinces his best friend Elliott to go with him -- the resulting crash leaves a devastating aftermath. Struggling to deal with his feelings, Mark makes a video for Charlie about that terrible decision to drive impaired. The story is followed by emotional and moving interviews with family members of real-life victims of impaired driving.

Media are welcome to attend the launch and speak with special guests, students and school staff.
