Wall Street Journal Debuts App for Apple Watch

NEW YORK, April 24, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Wall Street Journal today introduced an app for Apple Watch™ that provides subscribers at-a-glance, real-time news and market data. Formatted to take advantage of the very personal Apple Watch experience, the Journal app delivers the news and information that matters most. Features include corporate share price updates integrated seamlessly into accompanying headlines, allowing users to stay in sync not just with the news, but also their portfolios.

The app is yet another new way for subscribers to "Make Time" for the Journal. It is designed to work in tandem with the Journal’s universal app for iPhone and iPad, making it easy for Apple Watch users to read a full article on a mobile device immediately or to save for later.

"Apple Watch creates an entirely new reading experience, and we are pleased to launch an app that meets the ever-evolving needs of our subscribers," said Gerard Baker, Editor in Chief, The Wall Street Journal.

"The WSJ App for Apple Watch is right at the nexus of news, markets data and the latest mobile technology," said Dow Jones Chief Innovation Officer Edward Roussel. "Our goal is to dominate the financial news and data niche on Apple Watch. This is a great start and we intend to go a lot further.”

The Apple Watch app joins the Journal’s recently redesigned suite of digital products, including a new, fully responsive website as well as new iPhone and iPad apps. For subscription information, please visit: wsj.com/subscribenow.

The WSJ Apple Watch App is available now on the App Store or in the Apple Watch App on iPhone.
