Stefanini CEO Antonio Moreira speaks in Washington DC, NYC in advance of Brazilian Presidential visit

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., July 1, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Antonio Moreira, Chief Executive Officer for North America & APAC Operations at Stefanini, appeared in a panel discussion on June 25 in Washington, DC entitled "Brasilia in Washington: Investment and What's Next for the Bilateral Relationship." The event was conducted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), one of the world's preeminent international policy institutions.

The CSIS forum was held in anticipation of Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff's visit to Washington on June 30. Opening remarks were made by Brazil's Ambassador to the U.S., H.E. Luiz Alberto Figueiredo Machado, followed by Kenneth E. Hyatt, Deputy Undersecretary for International Trade at the U.S. Department of Commerce.

"In the run-up to President Dilma Rousseff's visit to Washington on June, all eyes are on the future of U.S. – Brazil relations," noted CSIS in an introduction to the event posted by the organization; "increasing investment and trade make the bilateral economic relationship stronger than ever, even as the two countries work to revitalize their diplomatic ties."

Moderated by Carl Meacham, Director of the CSIS Americas Program, the panel discussion also included U.S. Department of Commerce Executive Director for Select USA, Ambassador Vinai Thummalapally (the former U.S. Ambassador to Belize), among others.

"I see it as an honor both personally and for our company to have been a part of this bilateral trade policy discussion in Washington, as Stefanini is one of the Brazilian companies with a history of strong growth in the U.S.," Mr. Moreira said. "While the U.S. market is where we target a majority of our investments for the future, the trends and data discussed by the panel reflect that Brazil remains a competitive destination for nearshore service delivery."

Mr. Moreira's Washington, DC CSIS panel participation on June 25 follows his June 18 guest appearance in New York City at the Immercio 2015 conference, an event focused on the opportunities, challenges and best practices in the nearshoring arena. Here, Mr. Moreira served on an expert panel leading a discussion with U.S. services buyers on today's nearshore outsourcing opportunities
