READING, PA--(Marketwired - Jul 6, 2015) - Weidenhammer, a nationally recognized provider of K-12 school financial management software known as alio®, is preparing school districts to comply with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA).
The Affordable Care Act requires all school districts to offer health insurance to employees, including substitute teachers working an average of 30 hours or more per week during the school year. Effective in 2016, schools may be fined for noncompliance in reporting ACA insurance regulations.
"Weidenhammer has the tools in place to successfully navigate through the ACA reporting requirements," states Frank Heins, Executive Vice President. "School districts need to track information in 2015 so they can report it in 2016. Our alio software provides: hours tracking; benefits tracking for employees and dependents; ability to track when an employee was offered insurance, and if it was declined, the reason for that decision; and the required federal forms in printable form and electronic file."
Weidenhammer is offering customers extensive ACA online training to prepare them for the federal reporting requirements due in 2016.
Weidenhammer's alio software is available nationwide and has been implemented in school districts in 24 states. The Financial Management System and Human Resource System automates district financial, payroll and personnel needs, providing online inquiries and comprehensive reports. It is designed with accounting procedures and auditing controls so administrators can easily budget, monitor and control their school's finances. Information is electronically transferred to the general ledger, minimizing data entry requirements.
