MINNEAPOLIS, July 7, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Starkey Hearing Foundation is pleased to announce that George W. Bush, 43rd President of the United States, and top singer, songwriter and actress Katy Perry will headline the 15th anniversary Starkey Hearing Foundation So the World May Hear Awards Gala on Sunday, July 26, at the Saint Paul RiverCentre in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Starkey Hearing Foundation will recognize President George W. Bush, the Delta Zeta Sorority, No Limits and other humanitarians for their continued dedication and commitment to changing the world.

In addition to Katy Perry, this year's roster of entertainers includes Matt Nathanson, 2CELLOS, Jessica Sanchez and many other surprises. The gala also includes a celebrity red carpet event and a live auction.

Starkey Hearing Foundation's So the World May Hear Awards Gala is one of the most acclaimed fundraising events in the country, raising nearly $9 million in 2014 to support hearing health programs and charitable initiatives around the world. Every year, the Gala draws dozens of celebrities to the Twin Cities to show their support for Starkey Hearing Foundation. Previous guests have included Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Sir Richard Branson, Reba McEntire, Muhammad Ali, Garth Brooks, Sir Elton John, Tony Hawk, Billie Jean King, Gladys Knight, John Legend and many others.

"This year's gala promises to be the most exciting in the Foundation's history," says William F. Austin, founder of Starkey Hearing Foundation and global humanitarian. "We can't do much alone, and we are grateful to have so many friends join us from around the world to celebrate the connecting power of hearing and raise awareness for the work we are doing together."
