Desalitech’s Dr. Rick Stover Elected to International Desalination Association (IDA) Board of Directors


NEWTON, Mass., Aug. 13, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The International Desalination Association (IDA), announced that its membership has reelected Rick Stover of Desalitech to serve on its Board of Directors for the 2015-2017 term. Dr. Stover will hold one of four North American board seats along with noted desalination leaders: Doug Eisberg, Nikolay Voutchkov and Leon Awerbuch. This will be Dr. Stover’s 3rd consecutive term.

The IDA is the world’s leading resource for information and professional development for the global desalination and water reuse industry. The IDA is committed to informing the public about desalination and water reuse and their critical role in providing new, reliable and sustainable sources of fresh water around the world. Its upcoming World Congress meeting (Aug. 30 – Sep. 4, 2015, San Diego, CA) is the premier event for the global desalination and water reuse community. Held every two years, the Congress typically attracts 1,500 delegates world-wide. Dr. Stover serves as Co-Chair of the Congress’s Technical program.

Dr. Stover is a water industry veteran with 25 years of commercial and technical experience, dedicated to making global water resources sustainable through improved water treatment efficiency. As Desalitech’s Executive Vice President, he is responsible for market strategy, customer and technical support and growth of the company’s leadership role in reverse osmosis water purification. He previously served as Chief Technical Officer and Senior Vice President of Marketing for Energy Recovery, Inc., the leading supplier of energy recovery devices for seawater desalination. He then joined Oasys Water where he developed forward osmosis processes. Dr. Stover has been granted numerous patents and awards including the European Desalination Society’s Sidney Loeb award for outstanding innovation.
